• Screen Reader Software Instruction at NHILC
  New Horizons Independent Living Center will be offering Non-Visual Desktop Access (NVDA) screen reader software instruction to people who are blind or have vision impairment. Providing feedback via synthetic speech and Braille, NVDA allows people to access and interact with the Windows operating system and many third party applications. • Acupuncture Treatments at NHILC
  Miriam Benson, a licensed acupuncturist, will be providing acupuncture treatments for $35 in the NHILC conference room between 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Thursday mornings beginning May 27. Call Deborah at 772-1266 X 301 to schedule your appointment for the reducedfee brief sessions, fully clothed and in a seated position. Payment can be made by check or cash and patients will be required to
  sign a consent and arbitration agreement before your first treatment. Miriam, who likes to be called Mimi, is licensed and board certified and has been doing acupuncture for 15 years. She studied in China and will help you address pain and specific symptoms.

• New Arts and Crafts Group at NHILC
  New Horizons Independent Living Center is starting a new monthly activity for making arts and crafts projects. The Creative Crafters group will meet on the first Tuesday each month at 2:00 p.m. for arts and crafts projects. Each month will feature a special project with materials and instructions. The first meeting will be on Tuesday, June 1 at NHILC.The next date will be July 6.
